As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • The submission has not been previously published and is not under review at another journal. If your article is derived from a thesis or dissertation, please provide the name of the institution to which it was submitted, the date of submission, the author(s), and the supervisor.
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text adheres to IEEE stylistic and referencing requirements for the entire article, including the references and tables/figures, as outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
  • The article should present research that falls within the scope of the journal. Authors are strongly advised to evaluate relevance of their research relative to topics covered by JICTS;
  • Before proceeding with the submission process, make sure you are submitting to the most suitable journal - Focus and scope

  • Understand the open access policy and copyright agreement – Open access policy 
  • Prepare your manuscript in any format of your choice for review, make sure it is readable. Once accepted, the manuscript will then be formatted according to the journal template - Manuscript template
  • Prepare cover letter that mentions names of all co-authors and summarizes originality and significance of the research – Sample cover letter
