1. Overview

The Journal of ICT Systems (JICTS) upholds a rigorous and transparent peer review process to ensure the quality, originality, and scientific integrity of all published articles. All submitted manuscripts undergo double-blind peer review, where both the reviewers’ and authors’ identities are kept confidential throughout the evaluation process.

  1. Peer Review Process
  2. Initial Screening: Each submission is first reviewed by the Editor-in-Chief or an Associate Editor to assess its relevance, originality, quality, and adherence to the journal’s scope and formatting guidelines. Manuscripts that do not meet basic requirements or show signs of plagiarism are rejected without external review.
  3. Assignment to Reviewers: Manuscripts passing the initial screening are assigned to at least two independent expert reviewers with subject-matter expertise relevant to the article’s theme. Reviewers are selected based on academic qualifications, research experience, and prior publication history.
  • Double-Blind Review: Both the reviewers and authors remain anonymous to each other to ensure impartiality and objectivity. Reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on originality, clarity, methodology, ethical soundness, relevance, and contribution to the field of ICT.
  1. Review Report and Decision: Reviewers provide detailed comments and recommendations within a specified timeframe (usually 3–4 weeks). Based on reviewers’ feedback, the editor may issue one of the following decisions:
  • Accept without changes
  • Accept with minor revisions
  • Revise and resubmit (major revisions)
  • Reject
  1. Revision and Final Decision: Authors are given adequate time based on the extent of the comments, normally one month, to revise their manuscripts and must respond to all reviewer comments point by point. Revised submissions are re-evaluated by the editor (and occasionally by reviewers) before a final acceptance decision is made.
  2. Final Proof and Publication: Once accepted, manuscripts undergo professional copyediting and layout editing before publication. Authors review final proofs before publication to confirm accuracy.
